Alcohol Drug Screen

The Alcohol-Drug-Screen (ADS) is a brief, self-administered evidence based substance (alcohol and other drugs) use or abuse assessment instrument or test. It consists of 116 questions and takes around 20 minutes to complete. From test data (answers) input, scored and printed Alcohol-Drug-Screen (ADS) reports are available on-site within 2½ minutes.

The Alcohol-Drug-Screen (ADS) incorporates six scales (measures):

Anger Managment Profile

This test is designed for court and anger assessment treatment settings. The AMP is particularly useful in substance (alcohol and other drugs) abuse-related cases. It has 123 items and takes 25 minutes to complete. The Anger Management Profile scales (measures) include:

The AMP evaluates the client's test taking attitude and identifies faking. It measures substance use and the severity of abuse. The scale score recommendations are in accordance with American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) guidelines. It also quantifies anger (violence) potential.

Citizen Safeguard Index

The Citizen Safeguard Index is a test specifically designed for gun permit assessment. The Citizen Safeguard Index has 64 items and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. It is computer scored with reports printed within 2½ minutes on-site. The Citizen Safeguard Index is standardized on clients (male and female) ranging in age from 17 to 74.

The Citizen Safeguard Index contains four measures (scales) that measure client truthfulness, risk severity and substance (alcohol and other drugs) use and abuse. The interaction of these four attitude and behavior scales largely determines the clients outlook and subsequent behavior. This test is only available at www.online-testing.com

Defendant Questionnaire

Designed for Adult (male and female) court related defendant assessment. The Defendant Questionnaire is appropriate for drug courts and general court (misdemeanor and felony) populations. The Defendant Questionnaire has 162 items and takes 35 minutes to complete. The 7 Defendant Questionnaire scales (measures) include:

Substance abuse/dependency is "classified" in terms of DSM-IV criteria, while the Alcohol and Drugs Scales measure the "severity" of alcohol and drug use. This test incorporates ASAM compatible treatment recommendations and is HIPPA compliant.

Domestic Violence Inventory

Designed for domestic violence offender assessment, this test evaluates lethality, control issues, substance abuse and much more. It has 155 items and takes 30 minutes to complete. The 6 DVI test scales (measures) include:

The Truthfulness Scale detects denial, deception and attempts to "fake good." The Domestic Violence Inventory is a popular and widely used adult domestic violence perpetrator assessment instrument or test. It has been standardized on over 115,000 domestic violence offenders.

Domestic Violence Inventory Pre-Post

Designed for measuring domestic violence treatment outcome. This same test is given before and after treatment. Upon posttest the report compares pre-post test results. The test has 147 items and takes 30 minutes to complete. The 6 test scales include:

Although this test evolved from the Domestic Violence Inventory, it objectively compares pretest and posttest scores. To accurately measure attitude and behavioral change historical items have been minimized. The pretest (before treatment) serves as a baseline for posttest (after treatment) comparison. The DVI Pre-Post is one of a few tests that provide an "outcome measure." Domestic Violence Inventory - Short Form

This test is a brief, easily administered adult domestic violence test that is designed to assess attitudes and behaviors important in domestic violence offender evaluation. It has 76 items and takes 20 minutes to complete. The DVI-Short Form's 6 scales (measures) include:

The DVI-Short Form is a popular test and is appropriate for reading impaired assessment and high volume testing programs.

Driver Impairment Index

The Driver Impairment Index was designed specifically for California DUI providers it has 3 scales (measures): Truthfulness Scale, Alcohol Scale and the Drugs Scale. The DII consists of 64 items, takes 9 or 10 minutes to complete, and can be administered individually or in groups. DII's can be given in paper-pencil test booklet format or on the computer screen. Regardless of how administered, all DII tests are scored over the internet with scored reports printed on-site within 3 minutes. This test is reliable, valid and accurate. DII tests are readily available (24/7) over the internet at www.driver-impairment-index.com, where descriptive information, research and an example report are available for review. Also available is the DII-Dr which includes a Driver Risk Scale.

Driver Inventory

The Driver Inventory was developed in response to evaluator's who wanted to focus upon driver attitudes, temperament and outlook. This test is appropriate for males and females and takes 20 minutes to administer. It has 5 scales which include:

This test represents a non-offensive driver screen that does not explore substance (alcohol or other drugs) abuse.

Driver Risk Inventory-II

Designed for DUI/DWI offender assessment. This test incorporates DSM-IV substance abuse classification criteria with independent measures of alcohol and drug abuse severity. The DRI-II has been standardized on over one and a half million DUI/DWI offenders. It has 140 items and takes 25 to 30 minutes to complete. The 6 DRI-II scales (measures) include:

Rated the best by NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration), this is a popular DUI/DWI offender assessment instrument that is widely used in the U.S.A. and two Canadian provinces.

Employee Review

The Employee Review (ER) is a 126 item self-report screening instrument or test that takes around 20 to 25 minutes to complete. Scored and printed reports are available within 3 minutes. The ER is based upon the premise that good employees are worth retaining - even when employment obstacles or problems emerge. The Employee Review (ER) is designed for use in Personnel Departments, Human Resources Departments, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO). It can serve as an objective second opinion. The ER is a non-confrontational method for screening successful employment barriers. Employee Review scales include:

Employment Barriers

Employment Barriers (EB) is a 116-item self-report test that is written at a low sixth grade reading level. The EB test can be completed in 25 minutes. EB answer sheets are computer-scored with typed reports available on-site within 2½ minutes of data entry. The Employment Barriers (EB) facilitates early employment problem identification, which speeds up problem intervention, remediation and help. EB scales represent the test's areas of inquiry. The six Employment Barriers (EB) scales include:

1st Offense Inventory

The 1st Offense Inventory is designed for first offense (male and female) assessment. This test is particularly useful in defendant, presentence, pretrial and probation settings. The assessment has seven scales (measures):

The 1st Offense Inventory consists of 122 true, false and multiple choice items. It takes 20 to 25 minutes on average to complete and has a fifth grade reading level.

Gambler Addiction Index

Designed for gambler assessment. The GAI has 166 items and takes 35 minutes to complete. The 7 GAI scales (measures) include:

The GAI assesses important gambler attitudes and behaviors. It is estimated that there are over 12 million problem gamblers in the United States and many have substance (alcohol and drugs) abuse problems, stress handling difficulties and other emotional conflicts. Gamblers have a higher incidence of suicide than other clinical groups.

Offender Assessment Index

This assessment is an adult court test that is appropriate for evaluating misdemeanor and felony defendants, both male and female. The OAI has 158 items and takes 30 minutes to complete. The OAI's 7 scales (measures) include:

The Offender Assessment Index scales measure important offender attitudinal (resistance), problem (alcohol/drugs) and behavioral (violence) areas of inquiry. The OAI classifies substance abuse with DSM-IV criteria, while concurrently measuring alcohol and drug abuse severity.

Outreach Assessment

The Outreach Assessment (OA) is an objective, evidence based, adult screening instrument or test. It is designed for screening (assessment or evaluation) and, as warranted, referral for intervention or treatment. This important service is provided for private practitioners, psychologists, rural mental health providers, community agencies, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP's), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO's) and others.

Parolee Inventory

Designed for parolee assessment. The PI has 135 items and takes 30 to 35 minutes to complete. The 8 PI scales (measures) include:

The Parolee Inventory is an objective, comprehensive and standardized screening instrument that examines important attitudes and behaviors. Very few assessment instruments or tests are designed specifically for parolee evaluation.

Pre-Post Inventory

Designed for objective pretest-posttest "outcome" comparison. The Pre-Post Inventory has 148 items and takes 30 minutes to complete. The 7 Pre-Post Inventory scales (measures) include:

The Pre-Post Inventory provides an objective outcome measure for evaluating intervention, counseling or treatment effectiveness. The same test is administered twice. The pretest (before treatment) serves as a baseline against which the posttest (after treatment) is compared.

Prison Inmate Inventory

Designed for prison inmate (male and female) assessment. The PII has 161 items and takes 35 to 40 minutes to complete. The PII's 10 scales (measures) include:

Reports contain specific score-related recommendations that are applicable to levels of supervision and inmate needs. This test is standardized on over 75 thousand inmates and is a popular prison inmate assessment instrument. The PII has empirically demonstrated reliability, validity and accuracy.

Probation Referral Outcome

Courts and probation officers refer many probationers to counseling and treatment programs. In the past it was assumed that the probationer was rehabilitated, positively changed or cured because they completed their mandatory treatment. Recent research shows this assumption is often wrong. Some probationers do not change. The Probation Referral Outcome (PRO) is a counseling or treatment outcome effectiveness test. It assesses treatment change. PRO is administered twice: before treatment (pretest) and after treatment (posttest). The pretest becomes the baseline for posttest comparison. Upon posttest a Comparison Report is generated. The PRO has eight (8) scales (measures):

Quick Risk Screen (QRS)

This test is a concise or shorter version of the SAQ-Adult Probation III. The Quick Risk Screen is brief and to the point, yet provides important attitudinal and behavioral information. The Risk Scale measures defendant's/probationer's danger to self and others. The Quick Risk Screen has 64 items and can be completed in 20 minutes. The Quick Risk Screen has 4 scales which include:

The QRS is used in high volume testing settings with the reading impaired and as an alternative to the SAQ-Adult Probation III.



Reinstatement Review Inventory

Designed for screening applicants who have had their driver's license suspended or revoked and are applying for reinstatement of their driver's license. This test has 124 items and takes 25 minutes to complete. The RRI's 6 scales (measures) include:

This test explores the questions, "Has the applicant changed since their driver's license was suspended or revoked?" Very few, if any, other tests have been designed specifically for "driver's license reinstatement."

Reinstatement Review Inventory-II

This assessment or test is another approach to screening applicants applying for reinstatement of their driver's license after having had their license suspended or revoked. The Reinstatement Review Inventory has 6 scales (measures) which include:

The Reinstatement Review Inventory-II replaced the Reinstatement Review Inventory's "Road Rage Scale" with the "Stress Coping Abilities Scale." Designed for welfare recipient screening in welfare-to-work programs. It has 103 items and takes 20 minutes to complete. The Self-Assessment Index has 5 scales (measures) which include:

This test screens substance (alcohol and drugs) abuse, work attitudes, motivation and stress coping - important attitudes and behaviors for understanding welfare-to-work participants. Test results can be used to coordinate intervention, treatment and vocational rehabilitation services. This also identifies barriers to employability so they can be positively worked through.

Self Audit

The Self-Audit (SA) is designed for adult (male and female) counseling and treatment program intake. The SA can also be used in HMO's, EAP programs, courts, probation and community corrections. The SA has 160 items and takes 30 to 35 minutes to complete. It contains 9 scales (measures):

Sexual Adjustment Inventory

Designed for identifying sexual deviance and paraphilias in people accused or convicted of sex offenses. It has 225 items and takes 45 minutes to an hour to complete. The SAI has 13 scales which include:

The Veteran Information Profile (VIP) is a post-deployment screening instrument or civilian reintegration test that was designed for evaluators that counsel or assess veterans. The Veteran Information Profile or VIP incorporates eight veteran post-deployment scales (areas of inquiry):

This test is designed for the assessment of victims of physical and mental abuse or domestic violence. The VI has 147 items and takes 25 to 30 minutes to complete. The VI has 8 scales (measures) which include:

The Victim Index is different, it is designed to screen victims of physical and/or mental abuse and is appropriate for both adult male and female clients. This test is designed for use with defendants convicted of moving violations, are participating in defensive driving courses or are completing traffic violator or driver safety programs. The VAI has 114 items and takes 20 to 25 minutes to complete. The VAI has 5 scales (measures) which include:
